How do I get my Sims 2 game to work with an expansion pack disc?

by admin on January 27, 2010

Ok, so I’ve lost my Sims 2 Pets game(Which is the game my computer asked for)and I have several other expansion pack discs. How do I get my game to start with an expansion pack disc?

the sims 2 is launched from the latest expansion pack disk, i.e the one that was released last. So if you have lost the Pets disk you either need to uninstall pets, and run it from the disk before it or buy a newer expansion pack like apartment life or freetime, meaning you will never need the pets disk again :)
Also if you registered you’re game with EA somtimes through the doqnload manager, they have facilities for playing with a lost disk by letting you simply re-download it :)

The game asked for the Pets disc because it would have been the most recently released expansion pack. The game plays off the most recent EP (or Mansion & Garden, which technically is a mini-expansion pack (it installs as such) even though it’s named a stuff pack). So all you need to do is install a more recently released EP (but not SP, except M&G), which would then be the disc you play off of. No need to uninstall Pets or anything.

Just download this http://www.daemon-tools.cc/eng/home then you don’t need a cd rom

Daemon Tools is a program you can use to create a virtual disc drive. That means you can take a disc image (such as an ISO for a video game) and load it with Daemon Tools. It (fundamentally) tricks the computer into thinking that the disc is actually in and will run it as if it were.
